On September 11, 2024, St. Joseph’s Convent English Medium School celebrated the vibrant festival of Onam with a series of cultural programs, traditional feasts, and games. The event, held in the schools’s auditorium, was a grand success, bringing together students, faculty, and distinguished guests for a memorable day of festivities. Colourful pookalam was arranged in the hall by students.
The event commenced with an official inauguration ceremony, which was graced by the presence of esteemed guests. The program was inaugurated by Mr. Prakriti Babu, Artist, Art Director & Member of Kerala Lalitha Kala Academy. Following the inauguration, Onam messages were delivered by:

The inauguration concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Mstr. Abhishek. S, expressing gratitude to all the guests and contributors.The cultural programs were a major highlight of the celebration. Students and faculty alike showcased their talents through vibrant performances.
A colourful and traditional dance (Mega Thiruvathira) performed by students, teaching faculty and parents, which captured the spirit of the festival. Students surprised the audience with an energetic dance performances, adding an element of excitement and fun to the event. The arrival of Mahabali amid the beats of dance was well received by the audience.
A grand traditional Onam feast, known as the Onasadya, with payasam (pradhaman) was served after the cultural programs. The meal was enjoyed by all and was praised for its delicious flavors, making it a true highlight of the day.
Following the Onasadya, a variety of games and activities were organized for both students and staff. The day concluded with the final event, Tug – of – war, which drew much excitement and enthusiastic participation.
